    • Learning to Count by Douglas Burnet Smith has been shortlisted for the Atlantic Poetry Prize along with I Do Not Think That I Could Love A Human Being by Johanna Skibsrud and Lookout by John Steffler.
  • Shortlisted -  Annual Lambda Literary Awards // MAR 2011
    • White Shirt by Laurie MacFayden has been shortlisted in the category of lesbian poetry for the 23rd Annual Lambda Literary Awards. The awards will be presented on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at a gala in New York City. The “Lammy” is the most prestigious, competitive, and comprehensive literary award offered specifically toLGBT authors.
  • Shortlisted for Manitoba Book Award // MAR 2011
    • Attenuations of Force by Lori Cayer has been shortlisted for a Manitoba Book Award. Cayer is on the shortlist for the Aqua Books Lansdowne Prize for Poetry/Prix Lansdowne de poésie along with Clockfire by Jonathan Ball and Hump by Ariel Gordon.

  • Shortlisted – Gerald Lampert Memorial Award // APR 2011
    • “[sic]” by Nikki Reimer has been shortlisted for The Gerald Lampert Memorial Award which is given in the memory of Gerald Lampert, an arts administrator who organized authors’ tours and took a particular interest in the work of new writers. The award recognizes the best first book of poetry published by a Canadian in the preceding year. The award carries a $1,000 prize.
  • Shortlisted – Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry // APR 2011
    • Falling Blues by Jannie Edwards has been shortlisted for the Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry byThe Writers Guild of Alberta. Winners will be announced and awards presented at the Alberta Book Awards Gala on Saturday June 11, 2011 in conjunction with Book Publishers Association of Alberta’s (BPAA) Alberta Book Publishing Awards and Alberta Readers’ Choice Award.

  • Winner: 2011 Golden Crown Literary Award for Poetry // JUN 2011
    • White Shirt by Laurie MacFayden has WON in the category of lesbian poetry for the The 2011 Golden Crown Literary Awards. The awards were presented on Saturday, June 11 at a gala in Orlando, Florida. The Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) is a literary and educational organization for the enjoyment, discussion, and enhancement of lesbian literature.

    • Water Strider by Karen Hofmann Shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize in the BC Book Awards.

    • Kevin Irie was a finalist in the prestigious CBC Literary awards for his poem “Viewing Tom Thomson (A Minority Report)”.

    • Puti/White by Patria Rivera shares the Global Filipino Award for Poetry with Trill & Mordent by Luisa Igloria.


  • Winner – Alberta Book Awards Trade Fiction Book Award  // MAY 2007
    • Pearl by Nancy Jo Cullen was awarded the Trade Fiction Book Award.
