Leslie Greentree is the author of two books of poetry and a book of short fiction. Her poems and stories have been broadcast on a wide variety of CBC programs from Alberta to Ontario. Her poem, “charcoal drawing” ( guys named Bill ) was made into a short film by the CBCArtspots, and poems from go-go dancing for Elvis have appeared in the New Yorker and the London Sunday Times.

She has read at various festivals and literary venues across Canada, and was thrilled to be invited to read at the Dublin Writers’ Festival in 2005. But perhaps the most scary fun she’s had was performing a selection of her poetry from go-go dancing for Elvis as the core of the musical theatre production Blue Suede Shoes, created and produced in 2007 by Kompany, a Red Deer dance group – a two-week run, a director, no book for a safety net, and she had to actually move around on the stage and emote, almost like an actor. She wants to do it again.

Leslie is currently putting the final touches on her fourth book, another collection of short fiction. Her next project, a novel, is in the planning stages.
