Born and raised in Calgary, Jerry has lived in Canmore since 1996. He started hiking at age 5 and has continued to climb and ski all over the Rockies.Traveling since 18, he has explored large parts of Europe, the Middle East, South and North America, and lived for almost a year in India and region. He always returns to realize that Canmore is his Shangri-La.
He worked two seasons for the provincial park trail crews, climbing avidly and learned of the legend of Hooker and Brown, astonished to find himself so ignorant of so much of his own history.

Jerry Auld writes fiction about the mountains. Jerry’s writing explores the forgotten stories of the Rockies, often blending physical pursuits, philosophy, tales, fictional and historical characters together.

By day, Jerry works as a Knowledge Architect and Web Programmer. Jerry lives with his wife (fourteenth generation Québécoise) and their daughter, dividing their time between the mountains of Alberta, Quebec City, and anywhere that stories lead them.
