Jan Markley
Jan is a writer living in Calgary, Alberta. Dead Frog on the Porch is her debut novel for young readers, and the first in the Megabyte Mystery series. Her second novel, Dead Bird Through the Cat Door, Gumboot Books, will be published in 2010. Growing up, Jan was a voracious reader of Nancy Drew mysteries and enjoyed visiting the library where she would stretch her library card to the limit.
Jan previously worked as a print and broadcast journalist. She writes creative non-fiction and has had personal essays published in the Globe and Mail and WestWord, the Writers Guild of Alberta magazine. She has a MA degree in Cultural Anthropology and has travelled extensively around the world. Jan is writing the second book in the series Dead Bird Through the Cat Door.
